The original PS5 console was released in November 2020, and now, over 3 years later its popularity is still at an all-time high. The PS5 slim console release date was on November 29th 2023 in the UK at £389.99 on the PlayStations official website. Being almost £100 cheaper than the Original PS5, which was released 3 years prior at £479.99.

What are the benefits of PS5 Slim?
There are no interior benefits or changes to the PS5 Slim, besides an increase in the device’s storage capacity. Inside, the performance is just the same. This model focuses more on the look and design of the PS5, making it more compatible for users with less space in their homes, making it ideal with storage. The PS5 slim console does, however, have a 30% reduction in size with an 18% and a 24% reduction in weight, making it lighter, thinner, and more compact.
Peoples thoughts:
PlayStation fans were happy that the console is so much smaller and compact, with fans stating they liked how the device looked smaller and it was very obvious. Along with this, it was mentioned that the model runs well, with plenty of power for a small, compact console and due to the fact, that the console is smaller, it runs quieter too.
The only negative thing fans found was that the device, although cheaper, wasn’t too much cheaper considering it is a much smaller, compact model.
