Just Dance is one of the most well-known dance game platforms in existence. Everyone remembers at one point dancing along to the classic songs, trying to keep up with the characters on screen. And everyone had a favourite Just Dance song.

With 14 mainline current Just Dance games and a brand new one coming this year, we thought it would be good to rank the games from worst to best, to decide which is the ultimate Just Dance game.

Which Just Dance game is the best?
14- Just Dance 2017 :
Release date: 2016
Songs included Cheap Thrills, Hips Don’t Lie and Sorry.
Although the songs on the game were iconic and now beloved classics, some said that the dancing was too difficult and didn’t feel fun. And if players were using the Nintendo Switch, the vibrations from dancing would affect the Switch's gameplay connection through the floor.

13- Just Dance 2020 :
Release date: 2019
This game just didn’t have many changes. Although the choreography was slightly better and felt more advanced this was the only addition. And considering the franchise had been running for 10 years by now, this update should have come much sooner.

12- Just Dance 2019 :
Release date: 2018
Was criticised because there weren't as many classic, older songs with the iconic Just Dance animations. Due to this, the game is ranked lower on our ratings.

11- Just Dance 2016 :
Release date: 2015
Received some disappointment from players as they didn’t enjoy the songs as much. The 2015 game was added onto the mobile, however, so gamers could play from wherever on the go.

10- Just Dance 2021:
Release date: 2020
The game had many popular songs adored by fans from artists like Harry Styles, The Weeknd and Dua Lipa. Another thing loved by players was the very bright and colourful aspects of the game, making it more enjoyable than the games mentioned above.

9- Just Dance 2022:
Release date: 2021
Although coop mode was added to the game allowing players to team up with their friends to show off their best dance moves, there were some significant additions to the gameplay.

8- Just Dance 2018:
Release date: 2017
The game had highly improved responses to movement which made the game feel more challenging. As well as this, Kids Mode was added with choreography designed for younger players
Awards: Winner of the Favourite Video Game Award at the Kids Choice Awards 2018. Nominated for a 2018 BAFTA Award for the Best Family Game.

7- Just Dance 2023:
Release date: 2022
Awards: The game received 1 nomination for Favourite Video Game from the 2023 Blimp Awards, its first award nomination within the previous years.

6- Just Dance 2:
Release date: 2010
This game introduced new duet modes for some dances and introduced Dance Battle Mode, where up to 8 players could compete to the same song to become the ultimate dance machine.
Awards: Winner of the 2011 Kids Choice Award USA for Favourite Video Game.

5- Just Dance 2015:
Release date: 2014
The game had plenty of improvements including a lot more responsive and high-quality designs compared to the first few Just Dance games. It also had a wide variety of songs from genres like pop, Disney, theme songs, rock and more and introduced Ghost Mode, which reenacts another player high-scoring performance to reveal how well you’ve competed.

4- Just Dance 3:
Release date: 2011
This game was very successful considering it was the third version of this game, it was adored by millions. With decades of classic and new music in the game, Just Dance 3 added Dance Crew Mode, which lets up to 4 players dance together.
Awards: Winner of the Teen Choice Awards in 2012 for Choice Video Game. Nominated for Best Technology in the 2012 Canadian Video Game Awards.

3- Just Dance 2014:
Release date: 2013
This game introduced many new features, for example, onstage mode where players could choose to dance as a main dancer or a backup dancer and online multiplayer mode where players could dance against anyone.
The only reason however that Just Dance 2014 doesn’t quite make our top 3 is simply due to the added feature where some songs could only be accessed if gamers pay a fee.

2- Just Dance 4:
Release date: 2012
This game had much wider availability being released onto the WII-U also. Along with being added to a new console, the game had plenty of in-game added features, like dance quests were introduced which were tasks needed to be achieved for each song which would be rewarded as in game points.
Awards: Nominated for a BAFTA. Winner of the Favourite Video Game Award at the Kids Choice Award 2013.

Just Dance:
Release date: 2009
Nothing does it like the original! Although this game got no nominations or wins at any award ceremonies, its ironically simple but addictive gameplay introduced the idea of playing video games whilst actively moving around, with its multiplayer features launching Just Dance into the list of the best multiplayer video games in history.
