What is the plot of the Echoes of Wisdom?
The storyline of Echoes of Wisdom is straightforward but exciting. We see a young heroine step forward to save her kingdom. She uses newly discovered powers to explore the vast kingdom whilst fighting monsters, conquering dungeons and solving riddles of the rifts. It’s a great light-hearted game that encourages children to use their problem-solving skills to save the kingdom for good!
Is Echoes of Wisdom 3D?
Overall, the 2.5D game is very colourful and bubbly. It takes on a childlike approach to the game which is different from many other Zelda games. The design choices of the characters are light-hearted and engaging, their cartoon-like appearance is great for keeping kids entertained because it shows the fantasy-like environment that Zelda is set in.
Is Echoes of Wisdom a good game?
So let’s get into what ourselves, and other gamers, had to say positively about this game. First up we noticed that the game gives players a lot more freedom compared to previous games. And this isn't just when it comes to land exploration, but also to the approach players take when it comes to solving problems and discovering solutions. For example, many gamers pointed out the fact if you come across a broken bridge, you have the option to either mend it using old wood and materials from trees or to build a flying machine to fly over the ruin.
We noticed that the game is quite long, with current gamers taking between 30 and 35 hours to complete. Despite the length of the game through, it doesn’t feel like the challenges drag. Whilst it's certainly not the most difficult Zelda game, it’s important to consider this game is made for children, so even in the trickiest parts of the game (for example battling enemies), there are still options to heal yourself and give your character a second chance in battle. By many critics, the game is described as ‘easy and entertaining’, great for those children who the target audience is aimed at.

- The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - 2021
- The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity - 2020
- The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening - 2019

Is Echoes of Wisdom hard?
We only had one major improvement we thought was necessary for the game. Sometimes it can feel like the storyline plot takes a slight turn into another challenge before diverting back to the main plot of the game. Whilst this usually wouldn’t bother us as gamers, considering the game is strictly aimed at kids, this could easily confuse the young gamer when playing. If a child is involved in a task then suddenly a new task is presented, and once that one is completed they can return to the original task, this could make the child slightly confused about what they are doing, Just a small issue we picked up on.

Conclusion:
But overall, we are very impressed with this video game. We wouldn’t consider this game the most memorable of 2024, it certainly doesn’t offer anything too special or unique, but we love the plot and design choices aimed at kids. And any parents struggling to find a Christmas present gift idea this year Echoes of Wisdom is certainly an option to consider. But what did you think? Let us know in the comments!
