Games With Gold August 2022

Games With Gold August 2022-Custom Controllers UK

The new lineup for Games with Gold is now rolling out for August. And just like the last few months of Games with Gold, it is very underwhelming. Even more so when you compare it to PS Plus. But this isn’t about which line-up is better. So, without further ado, let’s get into the free games with gold for August 2022.

Calico

Starting with a game that most of you have probably never heard of before. Calico is a community simulator game where you are tasked with rebuilding the town’s cat café. Setting up the café with different furniture and food.

Originally released in December of 2020 by Whitethorn Games and Peachy Keen Games, the game received quite mixed reviews. I would normally include a score here from Metacritic, but there are genuinely no user reviews for the Xbox version of this game. However, on Nintendo Switch the game has a Metascore of 57 and a user score of 58, with a lot of complaints about bugs.

Calico will be available from August 1st to August 31st and is usually worth £9.99/$11.99 on the Microsoft Store.

Scourge Bringer

Second on the list is the roguelite platforming game: Scourge Bringer. You play as Kyhra, exploring the unknown and fighting through hordes of ancient machines that guard the seal of her past and the potential redemption of humanity.

Scourge Bringer was released in February of 2020 by Flying Oak Games and received quite mixed reviews online. With a Metascore of 76 and a user score of 6.2. With some praises for its smooth movement and gameplay, but also complaints based on how tedious the game is.

Scourge Bringer will be available for free from August 16th to September 15th and is valued at £14.24/$16.99 on the Microsoft Store.

Saints Row 2 (Xbox 360)

The third of the Games with Gold this August is Saints Row 2. Many of you may be familiar with the Saints Row series, and there is also a new entry releasing later this month. So, Saints Row 2 may be of some interest to you.

Saints Row 2 picks up directly after the original. With your customised character waking up after five years in a coma to find that the 3rd Street Saints have been disbanded and their territories were taken over. You jump into an open world to rebuild the Saints and take back control of the lost territories.

Saints Row 2 was released in October of 2008 and was developed by Volition, CD Projekt and G5 Entertainment. The game received quite positive reviews, with a Metascore of 8.1 and a user score of 8.2. With praises going towards the games enjoyable and large amount of content.

Saints Row 2 will be available for free from August 1st to August 15th and is valued at £8.99/$9.99 on the Microsoft Store.

Monaco (Xbox 360)

And the last game that will be available for free with Games with Gold is the Xbox 360 game Monaco. A top view stealth and action game that features both single and cooperative game modes.

The single-player mode takes you on a 4-act storyline. The first 3 acts follow the main character’s history and experiences, and the final act is played from the perspective of the police. And the cooperative mode puts you with three other players to take part in heists and robberies in various locations. You can pick one of eight characters, each boasting their own set of skills.

Monaco was released in 2013 and was developed by Pocketwatch Games, Andy Schatz and Sickhead Games. The game received quite mixed and positive reviews. With a Metascore of 81 and a user score of 74. The game is praised for being very enjoyable. Though it can be quite challenging.

Monaco will be available from August 16th to August 31st and is normally worth £9.99/$14.99 on the Microsoft Store.

In total, with Xbox Games With Gold this August, you will be saving roughly £43.21/$53.96 this month with Games With Gold.
