Everything Revealed in the Silent Hill Showcase

Everything Revealed in the Silent Hill Showcase-Custom Controllers UK

Silent Hill is a series that many players hold in their hearts. Even myself. After years of silence around the game, we now know what holds for the future of this game series. And it looks like there will be quite a lot to look forward to.

Silent Hill 2 Remake

The first and arguably one of the biggest reveals in the showcase was a remake of the fan-favourite Silent Hill 2. A reveal that has a lot of players excited. This remake of the classic horror game is being made by Bloober Team. The team made horror games including The Medium, Layers of Fear, Blair Witch, and other titles.

While Konami announced many new elements that have been implemented to improve the game. It was great to see that they decided to work closely with the original creators to make sure the atmosphere was preserved.

When it comes to new Silent Hill 2 remake changes, there are quite a few things to note. The first is the use of an over-the-shoulder camera rather than fixed camera angles. And this is meant to make the experience more immersive. Quite like what Capcom did with their Resident Evil 2 remake.

But along with this, there will also be a rebuilt combat system and set pieces, to keep players on the edge. It is also worth mentioning that character emotions and expressions have all been captured through state-of-the-art motion capture sessions. Which is sure to make the game even stronger.

The Silent Hill 2 Remake is being made using Unreal Engine 5. Which opens a lot of possibilities when it comes to details and realism. And with the use of Lumen (light interacts with environments realistically) and Nanite (realistic environments), this game is set to be truly fantastic.

Silent Hill 2 Remake is going to be a PS5 and PC exclusive. It will be on PS5 exclusively for a year before arriving on PC. Is the Silent Hill 2 Remake coming to Xbox? The game is confirmed to be PS5 and PC exclusive, so the Silent Hill 2 Remake will not be making its way to Xbox or any other platform. At least not anytime soon.

And with the PS5 being the focus, the technology with PS5 is also going to open a lot of avenues as well. The Silent Hill 2 remake is set to make full use of the PS5’s 3D audio, and the use of the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. And of course, the SSD storage technology means that this game is set to be a lot faster as well.

When does the Silent Hill 2 Remake release? No release date has been confirmed yet. And this is the case for most of the reveals in this showcase.

Silent Hill: Townfall

The Silent Hill 2 Remake wasn’t the only game to look forward to with the Silent Hill Showcase either. One of the new Silent Hill Games revealed is Silent Hill: Townfall. Granted we do not know much about this game so far, with the teaser showing us a series of unsettling images.

What we do know is that Silent Hill: Townfall is being made by Annapurna and NoCode Studios. The same creators of games like Stray, Outer Wilds and more.

No release date has been confirmed for Silent Hill Townfall. And it has not been revealed what platforms it will be available on.

Silent Hill F

The last game revealed in the Silent Hill Showcase is Silent Hill F. Which is set to be quite different compared to the rest of the series. Written by Ryukishi07, the game takes place in 1960s Japan, rather than the quiet USA town we have seen over the years with Silent Hill.

And just like Silent Hill: Townfall, we don’t know much about this game either apart from what we saw in the trailer. No release date, and no confirmed platforms.

Return To Silent Hill

With the three game reveals, we also got to see the reveal for a new Silent Hill movie. Return to Silent Hill is based on Silent Hill 2 and is being brought to you by the original Silent Hill Director: Christophe Gans.

Return to Silent Hill will be a psychological horror and will be true to Silent Hill 2. We will get to see our favourite monsters updated for the big screen, including Pyramid Head.

As for a release date, again it is not confirmed. But we could see the movie as soon as next year.

The future of Silent Hill looks very promising. And there is a lot to look forward to over the next few years. Though we don’t know exactly when these new games will release, the long wait is up. And we won’t have to wait long to return to our favourite foggy town.
