What big game is coming out in 2024?
With spring officially here, it’s time to welcome in fresh starts and beginnings and what better way to do that than by exploring the brand new selection of video games awaiting us this April? It seems to be a month very heavy on the action-adventure video games and we cannot wait to get trying these new games out.
So let’s dive into the most anticipated video games of April 2024 and see what you should be playing this spring!

Withering Rooms:
The first game available in April 2024 is Withering Rooms, hitting our stores on April 2nd. This role-playing, adventure puzzle game has been described as ‘redefining the horror RPG genre’ creating lots of anticipation being expected to offer a hauntingly unique experience. Set in a Victorian mansion that changes each night, the player takes control of Nightingale who has been sent by her father to Mostyn House, which is a strange and cursed place filled with walking corpses.
We cannot wait to check out this and many other new horror video games released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
Freedom Planet 2:
Next up releasing also at the start of the month, a completely different indie, action platformer game called Freedom Planet 2. Freedom Planet 2 will be released on April 4th on Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4 and Xbox Series X/S and is already very popular and well known amongst many gaming fans. In fact, the game will be released 10 years after the original game's debut back in 2014.
In the game, players can game as 4 playable heroines who race across levels to save Avalice from the ancient water dragon Merga, and her plans to destroy the moon.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes:
A slightly later release date in April next is Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes which we will see on our shelves on April 23rd. This action-adventure, strategy video game has been described as the ‘spiritual successor’ to the Suikoden games and fans cannot wait to see what will be in store when it comes to this game.
The storyline follows a young imperial officer and a boy from a remote village who become friends but quickly get dragged into the fires of war in a twist of fate. To find out what else happens, check out the game when it releases on Nintendo Switch, PS5 and Xbox.
Tales of Kenzera: Zau:
Also releasing on April 23rd is Tales Of Kenzera: Zau, a platform adventure game available on PS5, Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X/S. There has been a lot of positive hype around this game since it was originally announced back in December 2023 at The Game Awards. The game follows Zau as he embarks on a journey to retrieve his father by negotiating with the God Of Death.
Stellar Blade:
And finally, the last game we cannot wait to check out releasing in April on the 26th is Stellar Blade. This action, adventure game has been highly anticipated over a series of months. After numerous delays last year, it was unsure whether we’d ever see this game release, then moved to early 2024 the game has now been confirmed for an April release, we cannot wait to see if it will be worth it.
In the game, which is available on PS5, players follow a story to save humanity from extinction after mankind is expelled from Earth.
