PS Plus Games September 2022
It’s that time again. The newest PS Plus game line up is now out for subscribers to get their hands on. PS Plus subscribers tend to have a bit to look forward to when it comes to the free PS Plus games every month. But this month may not stick out as much compared to previous months. But what is quite exciting for PS Plus members this month, is the new additions to the PS Plus game catalogue (we’ll include a little section this at the end).
Getting straight into it, the PS Plus Games for September 2022 are Need for Speed Heat (PS4), Granblue Fantasy: Versus (PS4) and Toem (PS5).
Need for Speed Heat (PS4)
The standout game for the PS Plus game lineup this month is the 2019 entry into EA’s popular racing series, Need for Speed. And, in particular, Need for Speed Heat (PS4). Granted it may not be upgraded for PS5, but it is a good grab for all PlayStation players.
Need for Speed Heat takes you onto the streets of Palm City, against not only elite street racers but also the city’s police force. Compete against fierce competitors to rise the ranks and achieve underground glory. Customise and upgrade your garage of high-end vehicles. And race day or night.
Feedback for Need for Speed Heat for PS4 was quite mixed. Achieving a 72 Metascore and a 6.1 user score on Metacritic. Though the game was praised for its strong gameplay and open world, the game received many complaints about its police force mechanic. Many felt that it was tedious to escape them.
Need for Speed Heat is normally worth £59.99 on the PS Store. Which is quite a save if you have PS Plus.
Granblue Fantasy: Versus (PS4)
Second of the three games with PS Plus September is another PS4 game. Made by Marvelous, XSEED Games and Cygames in 2020 is Granblue Fantasy Versus. A 2.5D fighting game based on the popular RPG Granblue Fantasy.
If you are big into anime games or like fighting games, this may be one for you. Granblue Fantasy: Versus lets you fight as all your favourite characters, each featuring their own fighting styles and unique skills. All are set within well-known locations set within the Granblue Fantasy universe.
Granblue Fantasy: Versus for PS4 received many positive and mixed reviews. With a 78 Metascore and 6.5 user score on Metacritic. Though the game was praised for being easy to pick up, it had a few issues at launch with lag and slow response times.
Granblue Fantasy: Versus is normally worth just £15.99 on the PS Store but will be free until the beginning of October for PS Plus members.
Last up in the line-up is the PS5 game: Toem. The 2021 release was made by Indue Studio: Something We Made. Toem is a hand-drawn adventure game that involves using a camera to solve different puzzles and help people in the game.
Toem received a good Metascore on Metacritic. Getting a score of 80, with the game being praised for an imaginative and entertaining adventure. The user score, however, was very mixed. Got a score of 5.4.
Toem is also normally worth around £15.99 on the PS Store. So, grab it for free while you can.
As mentioned at the beginning, there are a few new entries to the PS Plus Extra and Premium Game Catalogue that are worth noting. And here they are:
